Fossa Pad Saver Blank Disc Set for 5in (125mm) Disc Sanders. The Pad Saver protects the backing pad from rapid wear out, and enables smooth and stable sanding. Fits ALL our 125mm / 5 inch diameter backing pads. Extra Blank 5in Pad Savers are available.
This DIY Kit enables you to punch out any hole pattern, to match the pattern of holes on your Festool, Mirka etc. disc sander backing pad.
Use an existing pre punched pad saver, or old abrasive disc as a template, and punch holes through the blank pad protector. Place the blank pad protector and template onto a piece of waste timber, with the hook side of the blank pad saver face up. Then use a hammer to punch holes through the blank pad saver.
The kit includes 1 x 125mm blank hook n loop pad, together with two different sized hole cutters. Additional blank pad savers can be purchased as required.
The Pad Saver protects the backing pad from rapid wear out. In effect, it is a sacrificial hook n loop layer, which is far cheaper to replace than the whole backing pad.
We recommend replacing the Pad Saver Disc when the grip attachment of the Abranet, or evoMESH sanding abrasive starts to become weak.
Application instructions: Once you've punched holes through your blank pad saver, match the Pad Protector hole pattern to the sander backing pad. Apply and press firmly onto the backing pad.
