Mirka Autonet Discs 150 mm diameter. Heavier duty, slightly less flexible grade of the original multifunctional Abranet designed for use in the bodyshop industry. It fits Mirka's Ceros compact electrical and pneumatic range of 150mm dia (6 inch) orbital sanders with dust extraction capabilities, as well as their disc hand sanding pads and disc hand sanding blocks (see links on right hand side of page). It's also suitable for use with any other 150mm disc machine sander fitted with a hook n loop backing pad. Backing pads are expensive, so make sure to use a pad protector, to save wear and tear on the backing pad itself.
Autonet is a unique multifunctional Aluminium oxide net sanding material. It combines high performance and a longer lifespan than traditional sandpaper abrasives, making it a cost effective solution.
Autonet is designed for dry sanding by machine or by hand. When combined with dust extraction equipment it's genuine dust-free sanding characteristics result in a cleaner work environment, as well as a better surface finish.
In comparison with Abranet, Autonet uses a heavier duty polyamide fabric mesh backing, which makes it stiffer and less flexible. The hook n loop backing is also of a slightly heavier grade.
These characteristics generally mean that 'Autonet' may be slightly better for heavier duty projects in the painting and decorating sector than the original Abranet. However, for finer finishing, and for it's increased flexibility we generally recommend sticking with the original Abranet - particularly where you require it's flexibility when using an Interface pad or circular hand pad.
Autonet is suitable for use on Aluminium, Hard wood, MDF / HDF, Mild steel, carbon steel, Non-ferrous metal, Paint stripping and paint removal, Paint sanding, Lacquers, Plaster, Putty, Plastics, Body filler, Primer, Solid surfaces, Soft or Resinous wood, Stainless steel, Steel, Veneer, Cast iron, Chipboard, Concrete, Copper alloys - brass or bronze, and Glass fibre.
Mirka Autonet Discs are 150mm in dia. They are available in the following grits P80, P120, P180, P240 and P320. They are sold as single discs, and in boxes of 50 discs to save you even more.
