Solignum Architectural is a water-borne opaque woodstain. It produces a microporous, flexible paint coating with excellent opacity and a low-sheen finish. Use Architectural for painting windows, doors, cladding, facias, fences, conservatories, sheds, gates etc. Easily applied by brush or roller with extremely quick drying times allowing projects to be completed in just one day.
Solignum Architectural penetrates the surface of the timber giving good adhesion so that no primer is required, and the surface will not crack or peel. It resists mould growth and protects timber from the harmful effects of UV light.
Architectural wood stain is a genuine low maintenance product requiring very little maintenance to preserve its colour and strength. It is BBA certified for more than 5 years - before redecoration should become necessary. Ebony is ideal for use on exterior black barn timbers.
Prepared bare timber*: Apply 2 coats on vertical surfaces, apply 3 coats on horizontal surfaces at correct coverage rates.
Sound previously coated & prepared timber: Apply 2 coats on vertical surfaces, apply 2-3 coats on horizontal surfaces at correct coverage rates.
Apply by brush, roller or conventional spray (which may require thining). Coverage of the paint coating will vary depending on the porosity and surface profile. Sawn timber 4-8 square meters per litre per coat. Planed timber 8-12 square meters per litre per coat. Please note that * colours are customised according to your colour requirements, cancellation restrictions apply. Solignum Architectural is available in 5L sizes in White, Ebony and 20 other popular colours. Please note a Solignum colour chart is available upon request.
*We always recommend applying a clear universal wood preservative to bare exterior timbers before overcoating, paying particular attention to cut end grain, this provides better protection against wood rotting fungi in the UK's wet climate.
