Yachy Varnish is a solvent-borne high quality exterior clear gloss varnish which enhances the natural beauty of wood. Suitable for use on hardwood doors, window frames and cladding. Provides up to 4 years protection in all weather conditions. Flexes with the wood to resist cracking, peeling and flaking. Contains UV inhibitors to help resist the harmful effects of sunlight when exposed outdoors. Also suitable for interior use. (Not suitable for floors or work surfaces).
Application to prepared bare hardwood: Apply 1 coat of Yacht Varnish thinned with 25% White Spirit followed when dry by two or three costs of unthinned Yacht Varnish, allowing a minimum of 16 hours between coats..
Theoretical coverage 12 square meters per litre. Practical coverage typically 9 square meters per litre, this may vary depending on the porosity and profile of the substrate. Apply by brush or short pile roller. Thin with white spirit if required.
Touch dry in approximately 2 hours, minimum overcoating interval 16 hours, maximum overcoating interval 7 days (it is important that the second coat is applied within this time period to ensure a good chemical bond between the first and second coats occurs). These times are based on a temperature of 20°C, normal relative humidity and good drying conditions. Do not apply if temperatures are below 10°C, especially in areas of low ventilation.
