Fossa Zipper Door - Dust and Spray Zip Door Barrier. Ideal for confining dust and over-spray to where you are working. It's brilliant for decorators and builders who need to seal off areas undergoing construction, sanding, or spray painting.
This very heavy duty dust-proof and waterproof polythene zipped doorway uses a heavy 400 guage (100 micron) transparent plastic sheet. Sufficient plastic sheet is supplied to fit all standard sized door openings up to 1.25m wide x 2.1m high.
Zip door provides ease of access from room-to-room whilst projects are underway. It's an effective dust barrier, reducing dust transfer from room to room. Simply attach around the top and sides of a door opening with a medium to strong adhesive masking tape (not provided) and unzip/zip when entering/leaving the room. Zip length approx 2.1 meters. You can also buy spare zippers from the links below.
Fitting
1) Securely attach the very heavy grade transparent plastic sheet to the wall or architrave surrounding the doorway using a medium to strong adhesive masking tape (not provided). We've provided links below to two different types of masking tape that are often used for this purpose. Make sure you attach the sheet to the opposite side of the doorway, to that from which the door is hung. Otherwise you may be unable to open/close any door which is present.
2) Peel off a small section of the self-adhesive paper backing from the end-stop end of the zipper, and stick the exposed adhesive vertically to the top of the heavy duty plastic sheet, in the center of the doorway.
3) Then slowly stick the rest of the zipper vertically on to the plastic sheet, by firmly pressing the zippers exposed self-adhesive side against the plastic sheet with one hand, whilst at the same time slowly removing the paper backing with your other hand. DO NOT REMOVE TOO MUCH PAPER BACKING AT ANY POINT DURING THIS PROCESS. (Tip: It can help to have somebody on the opposite side of the plastic sheet at this stage, so that you can both run your hands down each side of the sheet at the same time to ensure the zipper is firmly attached)
3) With the zip fully shut (as supplied), the zip slider should now be at the bottom of the door opening (floor), and the end stop should be at the top.
4) Whilst slowly opening the zip, use your other hand to carefully run a sharp knife up the center of the sheet to make the opening, taking care not to damage the zip with the knife during this process. This is a good time to make sure the zip is firmly attached to the plastic sheet.
5) Pull the zip back down to the bottom to seal the room off. The double sided zipper can now be used from both sides of the doorway.
Fossa Zipper Door is available in a single kit, and packs of 10 kits to save you even more.
