FrogTape Yellow is a low-tack professional quality painters masking tape from Shurtape USA. Adhesive Strength to Steel: 16 . Use on delicate surfaces such as fully dried freshly painted surfaces, decorative painting projects, previously stained or varnished timber etc., It's a lower tack, but not quite as low as some other delicate tapes. (Use FrogTape Green or Frogtape Orange on bare substrates or firmly adhering coatings where you need a higher-tack). Removes cleanly, and is UV resistant for up to 60 days.

It’s key difference compared with other painters masking tapes in Shurtapes range, is that Frog Tape has a water-absorbing polymer (SAP) powder, ground into both sides of the roll following manufacture.

This unique polymer expands almost instantly when it comes into contact with water. The expanded polymer blocks further paint ingress underneath the tape edge, reducing paint bleed inwards from the edge. It’s a simple innovation, which really does work on appropriate projects, such as multi-colour wall paint tasks, such as stripes, borders, dado’s or geometric shapes on smooth flat surfaces.

Where you’ve got a two colour wall painting project using water-based paints, which requires a low-tack tape, FrogTape Yellow really does provide you with the best chance of achieving sharp colour transitions, compared to any other professional masking tape on the market. Works well with water-based paints (emulsion and acrylics) on smooth, flat surfaces – You won’t see any benefit when using it with solvent-based coatings.
Tape should be firmly and evenly pressed down – if the polymer treated tape edge is not firmly in contact with the substrate being painted, it won’t be able to block further paint ingress when it expands.
Keep the tape dry, and sealed in it’s container when not in use, as the polymer reacts to water.
Remove the tape immediately after each application of your coatings.
